ON TOUR: Cairns to Cape York: The Final Leg

The Last Push to the Tip of Australia

Updated: 23rd June 2010

Well, after being out of contact for the past few days at various bushcamps on the way up north, the group arrived on schedule and in one piece yesterday to Seisia - the last overnight stop before the final push to the tip of Cape York.

All has gone really well on tour again this year with lots of physical hard work, and mental determination by all of the riders and crew, and today is the day that they reach their goal of standing at the north tip of the Australian continent.

As I write this on Wednesday morning the group are making their way from Seisia to the tip and will be there just before lunchtime to pop the corks on a couple of bottles of champagne and smile for a thousand photos. Congratulations to you all.

We will get photos up as soon as Phil and Susan can send them back to us here in the office. Internet connections and wireless broadband reception just isn't quite the same up there!

All the best for the last few well-deserved relaxing days of the tour...
