2013 Lakes and Rail Trail

Gippsland Victoria

Friday 04 October, 2013 to Monday 07 October, 2013

Bairnsdale to Orbost: Explore the once bustling transport links of the railway line and waterways of Victoria’s East Gippsland, now transformed into idyllic cycling routes for us to explore. We have picked out a magnificent combination of Rail Trails, forest tracks and backways for our tour to allow you to explore slowly and deeply breathe in the salt air and bush fragrances.

Cycle the East Gippsland Rail Trail between the expanses of the Gippsland Lakes, to the quiet ‘mingling waters’ of Nowa Nowa and on to the labyrinthine Snowy River as it loops across its flood plain.

“Thank you so much for all your effort that went into making the bike ride a great experience for me. Nothing was too much trouble, and you made us all feel very comfortable and safe. The food was great and plenty of it. I never realised how beautiful that part of Victoria was, and how fortunate was I, to enjoy it up close and personal”. Robyn
