Due to popular demand (and the fact that it is great fun) we are taking off on the Cairns to Cape York MTB tour in 2010! From the tropics of North Queensland to the tip of Australia, get on your bike and let's go! This MTB tour featured in the Top Riders documentary, Channel 7 in 2008.
The 2008 Cairns to Cape York MTB ride was fantastic, with deeper creeks, tail winds and better roads.
The ride was an adventure package with surfaces ranging from sand to rocky gravel to corrugations to red clay and bull dust.
Riders from all over Australia moulded together as one encouraging each other through the creek crossings and the tougher days.
Susan\'s food with the assistance of many eager hands was the centre of much enjoyment and joviality.
Creeks that were once only dreams were now being crossed with fun and laughter.
The wildlife of crocodiles, cassowaries, kangaroos, snakes, birds, frogs and butterflies was Australian nature at its best.
The 10 km time trail to Bramwell station was a great success as was the unified last day push to the top. (The Tippy Top of Australia)
We celebrated with champagne at The Top and an indigenous Hungie and traditional dancers that evening.
The enthusiasm of the riders carried them through the tough days, rewarded by the camaraderie round the campfire at completion of the days ride.
