Cycling away from famous Manly Beach you quickly leave behind the hustle and bustle of Sydney city as you ferry across Broken Bay and head into the Northern Beaches, Central Coast and Hunter Valley. Ride through the Great Dividing Range and Central Tablelands region while enjoying the sights and scenery of Thunderbolts Way, named after the legendary Bush Ranger Captain Thunderbolt.
A rest day amongst the wide leafy streets and heritage architecture of Armidale will recharge the batteries before you move on to more stunning National Parks and natural wonders such as Wollomombi Falls, Oxley Wild Rivers National Park and the Clarence River. Make your way to Australia's most Easterly Point at the Byron Bay Lighthouse before enjoying the world-famous beaches the of the Gold Coast (and our RACV Royal Pines Resort Accommodation) and finally on to warm, friendly and buzzing Brisbane.

Surface: Sealed bitumen roads (rough in sections due to recent rain/flood events).
Terrain: First ~300km undulating to hills, then hills to mountains for approx ~300km, then returning to undulating to hills for the last ~300km.
Difficulty Rating: 8/10. A couple of days with significant hill climbs, a few days over 100km. Some damaged sections of road due to recent rain/flood events.
Meals included: All breakfasts and morning teas, most lunches and dinners.
Accommodation: Quality country motels plus a few top-class city hotels where available.
